KIPP Chicago is a Chicago-based educational organization within the Knowledge Is Power Program network. It operates eight primary and middle schools on the West and South Sides, serving about 3,500 students from kindergarten through eighth grade and providing ongoing guidance to more than 2,600 alumni through the KIPP Forward program. Founded in 2003, the organization combines rigorous academics with character development to prepare students for success in top high schools and universities and to become active contributors in their communities. Based in Chicago, Illinois, the organization emphasizes wraparound supports and partnerships that extend beyond classroom learning. Since 2022 it has offered an adult High School Diploma Program through a partnership with Penn Foster, and a new development in 2024 expanded that collaboration. The organization has also pursued initiatives such as meal partnerships during disruptions and the KIPP Closet to assist students and their families.
