KL is a large private interest- and membership organization that represents all 98 municipalities in Denmark. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark's Capital Region, it safeguards the municipalities' common interests and supports them in political and administrative tasks. It serves as the collective negotiating body for the municipalities, as well as a knowledge center and a forum for joint initiatives and decisions. Its mission is to develop and maintain a robust local democracy and to advocate for the municipalities' shared interests.
