KOGAS is a government-established energy company in South Korea, founded in 1983. It is the country’s sole LNG provider and the largest LNG importer, operating three LNG terminals and a nationwide pipeline network spanning about 3,022 kilometers to help ensure a stable supply. The company imports LNG to support power generation and distributes it to power plants, gas-utility firms, and city gas providers nationwide. Beyond LNG, KOGAS produces and supplies natural gas, handles gas-related by-products, and builds and operates production facilities and distribution infrastructure. It conducts exploration, imports, and exports of natural gas for domestic and overseas markets and holds sovereign credit ratings of A1 from Moody's and A from S&P. In March 2026, LNG Canada announced a partnership with KOGAS International, illustrating ongoing international collaboration in the LNG sector.
