Kostume Kult is a Brooklyn-based, non-profit arts collective focused on participatory culture. It produces large costume galas, street theater events, and arts festivals and sustains a year-round schedule intended to keep costume and performance central to its activities.

Active since 2002, it operates as a project of the Costume Cultural Society, a New York-based nonprofit. The group participates in a broad slate of public events—including Burning Man fashion camps, a float in the NYC Halloween Parade, and appearances at FIGMENT, the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, the Dance Parade, Gay Pride Parade, the Idiotarod shopping cart race, Santacon, Zombiecon and other public spectacles. Kostume Kult's Costume Galas are participatory theater experiences with interactive arts and performances, typically drawing 500 to 1,000 attendees, and its ongoing productions include Horned Ball, The Black & Light Ball, FreaKKshow, Reentry, The Alt.Oscar Awards, Lunar-Valentines, and an annual Halloween gala.
