K.S. J.A.M.M. Dance Troupe is a performing arts organization based in Brooklyn, New York, focused on enabling youth and young adults from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to express themselves and develop personally through dance. The troupe conducts a 10-month instructional cycle covering modern, jazz, tap, African, and hip-hop styles, with the year culminating in an annual recital that draws a community audience. Founded in 1988 at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, the group has engaged more than a thousand students through classes and has participated in local history exhibits and cultural events. The organization preserves an ongoing legacy through its annual Dancer of the Year Award, now named in memory of a former member, and maintains a presence within the local arts and educational ecosystem of Brooklyn.
