We established KUTH | RANIERI Architects in 1990. Over the last two decades we’ve produced a broad spectrum of projects, from small-scaled objects and installations to buildings and urban design proposals. The firm has earned a regional and national reputation for innovative works that integrate current cultural discourse with contemporary issues of design, technology and the environment. Central to our work is an intention to amplify craft within design favoring a performative approach over a formal one. Our preoccupation with and investigation of materials, components, and systems signal an effort to precisely measure things that are often indeterminate or unknown: the latent aspects inherent in each investigation, site, or program. As our practice matures, the work evolves toward a consistent position in which sustainable strategies push beyond building performance to focus on the development of an expression of environmental architecture.
