Since 1984, Kutztown Area Transport Service has been providing emergency and non-emergency medical transportation services to Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Upper Montgomery, Upper Bucks and Schuylkill Counties. 

We began providing services to fill a void that the local emergency service provider, Kutztown Lions Club Ambulance was unable to fulfill. In 1987 we acquired the assets of the Lions Club Ambulance and began providing emergency responses to the Kutztown area. In an effort to fill all of the needs of the community we received our Advanced Life Support license in 1997 to become a full service EMS organization. 

Since that time, our fleet of only 3 ambulances has grown to over 30 different transportation vehicles; ambulances and wheelchair vans.

 ■Kutztown Area Transport Service is currently licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of EMS at both the Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support levels. 

■Kutztown Area Transport Service is an emergency medical services Continuing Education Sponsor Site.

■Kutztown Area Transport Service provides preceptors to two local schools of paramedicine         

■In 2008, we became one of only two ambulance services in the Commonwealth to be certified by the Pennsylvania Department of General Services as a Women Business Enterprise.          

■We are actively involved in the Ambulance Association of Pennsylvania and the Eastern PA EMS Council.
