LA Pride - Christopher Street West is a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, California. Its mission is to create safe and inclusive spaces for self-expression, to inspire authentic activism in the ongoing fight for equality, and to celebrate the heritage and diverse cultures of Los Angeles' LGBTQ+ community and its allies. CSW traces its history to 1970, when it organized the world's first permitted parade advocating for gay rights in response to the Stonewall Rebellion. Its activities target the LGBTQ+ community and its allies in Los Angeles, providing spaces for expression and opportunities to advocate for equality. A recent development includes a partnership with the Los Angeles Zoo to host a Pride edition of the LA Zoo Lights event in January 2024.
