The Lake Forest Library serves Lake Forest, Illinois, and nearby communities as a public library, providing access to a broad range of materials and digital resources for residents and local businesses. Its collections include books, ebooks, audiobooks, movies, and music, along with databases, training software, and a Media Lab, in addition to a program of events and activities designed to educate, entertain, and inform the community. Housed in a historic building, the library was chartered in 1898, opened in 1899, and moved to its current site in 1931, located about 30 miles north of Chicago on Lake Michigan.
