Lake Norman Pool & Spa was started in 1987 as Statesville Pool & Spa in a small building in downtown Statesville on Center Street. The business concentrated on the sales of above-ground pools, spas and at-home service for these products. In 1991 Statesville Pool and Spa was chosen to be an Authorized Dealer for Bioguard Pool and Spa Products, which has long been known as the leading supplier for quality pool and spa chemicals along with the intensive training supplied to its dealer network. In 1998, land was purchased on Statesville Road in Cornelius for the construction of a second retail location. In 1999, construction was started and finished on the Cornelius location, to be called Lake Norman Pool & Spa. It was soon realized that it simply made better sense to call the whole company Lake Norman Pool & Spa, so the name of the Statesville store was changed to Lake Norman Pool & Spa also. As with the Statesville store, the Cornelius store was soon recognized as the leader in the area surrounding the eastern side of Lake Norman and points south. The Denver store location opened in the spring of 2006 with the same high standards followed by the other Lake Norman Pool and Spa locations. An outdoor pool park, showcasing full size working displays of both in ground and above ground pools, was completed at this store location in 2009.
