The Land Trust of North Alabama is a nonprofit organization focused on preserving natural lands, water resources, and wildlife habitat across ten counties in North Alabama. It has protected more than 10,000 acres and maintains over 80 miles of free public trails across ten nature preserves for visitors and residents. In addition to land protection, it runs environmental education programs and guided hikes to foster stewardship and connect people with nature. It is based in Huntsville, Alabama. In March 2026, the Land Trust closed on 65 acres of land on Green Mountain, Ohio, as part of its River to Gap initiative. In 2025 it launched an environmental education initiative aimed at equipping local high school students with hands-on conservation science experience.
