Founded in 1984 and based in San Francisco, California, Larkin Street Youth Services is a nonprofit organization focused on helping young people ages 12 to 24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. It provides a continuum of services, including outreach, shelter, housing, health and wellness, education, and employment support. Since its inception, the organization has assisted more than 75,000 youth, and three-quarters of program graduates leave street life behind, making it the largest nonprofit provider of homeless youth services in the city. In 2023, Larkin Street launched the Trust Youth Initiative in collaboration with Google and a range of partners. The organization has also pursued partnerships to expand its reach, including a 2022 collaboration with Dolores Street Community Services to provide supportive housing.
