Laurus is derived from a Latin word meaning "success". Laurus College’s career-focused courses help students earn their Bachelor's and/or Associate degrees in the fields of Audio and Video Production, Business Systems, Information Technologies (IT) Systems, and Healthcare Management (Associate only). 
Laurus College operates several in-residence support facilities throughout California, including Atascadero, Chula Vista, Oxnard, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, and in the state of Nevada; all programs are available online. Laurus College is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission to award Occupational Associate, Associate of Science, and Bachelor of Science Degrees and is licensed to operate in the State of Nevada by the Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education.
