Leonardo Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1997. We are dedicated to advancing sustainability and leveraging the competitive market to improve our environment. Leonardo Academy works to develop and implement strategies, guidance, metrics, standards, education, and information on how to increase sustainability. We also help companies and organizations successfully implement sustainability practices in their everyday operations. Our integrated approach makes sustainability practical for everyone. Our history demonstrates our commitment to and knowledge of the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Rating System. Leonardo Academy has been deeply involved in the development of LEED since we joined the USGBC in 1999. We have been particularly involved in the development of the USGBC’s LEED for Existing Buildings (LEED EB) Rating System, which provides a framework for auditing and improving the sustainable performance of buildings. Our services and programs include LEED certification, WELL certification, ENERGY STAR, emissions inventories, reductions and offsets, supply chain sustainability, organizational sustainability assessments and implementation, sustainability standards development, professional green building training, sustainability support for colleges and universities, grant application and administration services for mobile emissions reduction projects, and sustainable land management education through the Valley Ridge Preserve.
