Leesburg Regional Medical Center Foundation is a not-for-profit philanthropic organization associated with Leesburg Regional Medical Center, based in Leesburg in Central Florida. Founded in 1977, it supports the hospital’s high-quality medical services, programs, and growing needs by inviting community involvement and directing contributions to direct patient care for the uninsured and underinsured, as well as to equipment, nursing student scholarships, and program or facility improvements. The foundation is led by a chief executive officer and governed by a board of directors and emphasizes that gifts support its programs and patient care in the community. One program, the Albert & Helen Elleck Nursing Endowment, has awarded more than 20 scholarships in the past five years to help local students pursue nursing careers at Leesburg Regional Medical Center. In 2022, the hospital launched the Stryker Mako robotic surgical device as part of its orthopaedics program, illustrating ongoing adoption of advanced surgical technology in the region.
