Legacy Research has over 20 years of experience helping government agencies and private companies comply with state and federal legislation that protects significant archaeological and architectural resources.  The company provides a team of highly qualified archaeologists and historians who specialize in assessing the effects of construction on historic and prehistoric sites. When needed, other specialists, such as geomorphologists, paleobotonists, and underwater archaeologists are subcontracted for their professional expertise. 

Legacy maintains or has access to all laboratory and field equipment including heavy earth-moving machinery that is needed to successfully conduct cultural resource investigations. Recognized laboratories for radiocarbon dating and pollen analysis are utilized as needed.

Legacy is a Woman-Owned Small Business, holding several certifications including an Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) with the SBA’s Federal Contract Program, a Veteran-Owed Small Business (VOSB) with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and a Small Professional Services Firm (SPSF) with the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
