Legal Services of the Hudson Valley is a non-profit organization that provides free civil legal counsel to low-income individuals and families who cannot afford an attorney when basic needs are at stake. Based in White Plains, New York, it serves seven counties in the lower and mid-Hudson Valley from ten offices. Founded in 1967 as Westchester Legal Services, the organization now covers Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Ulster and Sullivan counties. It is the sole provider offering comprehensive civil legal services across all seven counties it serves. Its work spans issues including protecting children from neglect, supporting survivors of domestic violence, defending seniors from abuse, assisting veterans, upholding the rights of people with disabilities, and helping families stay in their homes. In 2025, it announced its Equal Access to Justice Gala would be held on September 17 at the Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle.
