The gallery concentrates on editions and works on paper from Modern, Post-War, and Contemporary masters across American and European art. It traces its lineage to Les Art International in Johannesburg (1981) and Leslie Sacks Fine Art in Los Angeles (1992), which established a focus on fine art editions and rare papers. In 2007, the business acquired Bobbie Greenfield Gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, creating a second venue that emphasized editions and works on paper and represented the Estate of Robert Motherwell (the Dedalus Foundation).

After the founder's death in 2013, Leslie Sacks Gallery continued as the singular venue in Santa Monica, maintaining an active exhibition program and a substantial inventory of Post-War and Contemporary works on paper and Modern master pieces. The gallery is affiliated with industry organizations (IFPDA, ADAC, FADA) and participates in major art fairs such as Art Miami and the IFPDA Print Fair.
