For more than a decade, LEVYdance has been a dynamic San Francisco dance institution, known for artistic excellence, creative collaborations, and a home studio in the SOMA District that acts as a hub for self-expression through movement.  As a creative incubator and community resource, LEVYdance is a significant presence in the arts ecology and economy of San Francisco.   

At the core of LEVYdance is an internationally touring dance company recognized for innovative, interdisciplinary, interactive works that explore the nuances of being human. Its values of risk taking and rigorous creative development, and its aesthetics of kinetic dance that balances form and raw emotional experience, resonate through all of the organization’s programs. LEVYdance acts as both a gateway for new arrivals to the local dance scene, and an ambassador on the road representing the creative values of our region.

LEVYdance’s activities are diverse, united by a desire to build community both within and beyond the professional dance world. We embrace the audience as an integral part of performance, and seek to engage with individuals from many backgrounds and life experiences.  Beyond performing in traditional venues, LEVYdance creates innovative multi-media, site-specific and installation works that explore new relationships between performer and audience. LEVYdance creates projects and programs on a variety of scales each year, through a wide array of multi-disciplinary collaborations.
