Libertas College Prep operates a charter middle school serving grades 4 through 8 in South Los Angeles, California, placing it within the education administration programs field. The school aims to provide a structured, supportive environment that fosters strong relationships with students and high expectations for their growth inside and outside the classroom. It emphasizes beginning middle school in the fourth grade to address urban achievement gaps and to prepare students for selective high schools, supported by routines that create a focused learning culture.

Literacy is central to its approach, with a daily three-hour focus on reading and targeted remediation in phonics, fluency, and comprehension. Teachers act as academic leaders and character coaches, guiding students toward ambitious academic and personal goals. In August 2021, Libertas College Prep was recognized as a California Distinguished School, marking its second consecutive year earning the distinction.
