Liberty Science Center is a nonprofit organization focused on engaging learners of all ages in science and technology. Located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey, it operates as a public science venue near the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty. Its offerings include 12 museum exhibition halls, a live animal collection of about 110 species, large aquariums, the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium—the largest in the Western Hemisphere—along with a 3D theater and wind simulators used to illustrate extreme weather phenomena. The center serves students, teachers, and families in the New York City metropolitan area, drawing more than half a million visitors annually and providing offsite and online programs. In 2026 it received NASA's STEM Innovator Award for its support of afterschool astronomy programs.
