Life for Relief and Development is a nonprofit humanitarian relief and development organization based in Southfield, Michigan, founded in 1992 by Arab and Muslim American professionals in response to crises after the 1991 Gulf War. It is the largest U.S.-founded Muslim American humanitarian relief and development organization, operating with an annual budget around $20 million as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The organization provides aid without regard to race, religion, or cultural background, prioritizing emergency food, water, medical care, and temporary shelter, and it mobilizes in response to natural disasters and other humanitarian crises worldwide.

Its program reach extends to countries including Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, the Palestinian Territories (through an office in Israel), Jordan, and Sierra Leone, and it collaborates with partners such as Habitat for Humanity and the Zakat Foundation. The group participates in global humanitarian networks with Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council and membership in InterAction, and it has distributed over $130 million in relief items to more than 20 million people. In March 2026, Life for Relief and Development announced an expanded emergency response to assist families displaced by escalating violence in Lebanon.
