Lifebanc is a mid-sized nonprofit based in Cleveland, Ohio, focused on organ, eye, and tissue donation for transplantation in northeast Ohio. Its mission centers on saving and healing lives by enabling donation, alongside professional and community education and grief services for donor families. The organization collaborates with hospitals and transplant centers across 20 counties, working with about 80 hospitals and two transplant centers to support the donation process. Lifebanc participates in the national framework for organ procurement as a member of the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN), overseen by UNOS since 1986. The nonprofit operates within the regional health care landscape as northeast Ohio's organ and tissue recovery organization, coordinating with health systems to advance transplantation opportunities. In 2025 Lifebanc announced leadership changes, including the appointment of Jeannie Sureck as Chief People Officer, effective May 1, 2025.
