Established in 2001 and based in Los Angeles and London, Lightning specializes in the financing, co-producing, and worldwide sales of premier filmed content. The company represents one of the largest libraries of high-quality pictures in today's independent marketplace.

Lightning co-created “Fangoria® FrightFest®”, which became the leading supplier of independent genre films to Blockbuster. In 2017, Lightning resurrected its FrightFest® label as part of a new multi-picture slate of elevated genre films with Circle of Confusion (the producers of “The Walking Dead”) and Hindsight Media Finance (PR on our Twitter below).

In April 2018, Lightning partnered with Baral/Waley Productions and Stu Levy's TOKYOPOP, one of the largest ANIME and MANGA publishing and IP rights libraries in North America and Europe. The partnership aims to adapt TOKYOPOP's popular comic books and short stories into live-action and animated films and TV shows.

Lightning has a strong presence at all major film and TV markets and festivals and maintains long-standing relationships with the leading distributors in all global territories.
