Linn-Benton Community College, established in 1966 as a two-year public institution, serves residents of Linn and Benton counties from its Albany, Oregon campus. As a mid-sized public community college, it offers more than 60 transfer and career/technical programs and draws over 22,000 students to at least one class each year, with upwards of 7,000 enrolled full time, and maintains a 21:1 student-to-instructor ratio along with active campus life that includes more than 32 clubs, performances, and athletics. LBCC's mission focuses on education that enables participation in the cultural richness and economic vitality of its communities, guided by the values of Opportunity, Excellence, Inclusiveness, Learning, and Engagement. In 2024 the college launched a program to train surgical technologists, illustrating ongoing expansion of career and technical offerings.
