Founded in 1878 in New York City, Lion Brand Yarn Company is a fifth-generation, family-owned and operated business. We are devoted to inspiring and educating knitters and crocheters around the world with quality yarns. Lion Brand offers a wide range of yarns in fibers from 100% cashmere to wool and wool blends to premium acrylics. Our website offers over 7,500 free patterns, how-tos, and ideas that elevate the yarn crafting experience. 

Lion Brand yarns are sold online, in major brick and mortar retailers, and craft chains worldwide, as well as at lionbrand.com.

We have donated millions of dollars to various charities and have partnered with organizations like Warm Up America! and Project Linus, which provide hand knits to those in need.  

Lion Brand’s spokesperson is Vanna White, America’s favorite crocheter. Through the sales of Vanna’s signature lines of yarn, we have donated over $1.9 million to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Lion Brand has an in-house design studio, video production team, and marketing department producing Lion Media, which reaches more knitters and crocheters every month than all top 10 knit and crochet publications.
