Literacy Connects is a volunteer-driven nonprofit based in Tucson, Arizona, operating in the civic and social sector with a mission to connect people of all ages through literacy and creative expression. The organization supports a suite of programs designed to build foundational reading, writing, and communication skills while promoting lifelong learning. Reach Out and Read partners with pediatric clinicians to encourage reading from birth and provide families with new books and coaching on early literacy. Stories that Soar! channels young writers' voices through theatre, visual arts, handcrafted books, and an arts-integrated K-12 curriculum. The Adult Basic Literacy and English Language Acquisition program trains volunteers to tutor adults in English language skills and foundational literacy, offering individualized tutoring, group classes, and GED preparation in English and Spanish.
