Literacy Now is a Houston-based nonprofit organization focused on improving reading readiness and providing reading intervention for children. The organization works directly with students and families through programs in HISD and Aldine ISD schools as well as community sites, offering interactive parent engagement and trained volunteer mentors through its Lunch Bunch mentoring program. Its primary objective is to help students read on grade level by the end of third grade, which research suggests supports ongoing educational success and future graduation readiness.
