The company originated in Nashville, Tennessee, under the leadership of CEO Matt Rubinstein, a former middle school teacher who envisioned a digital alternative to a paper-based behavior-reward system. Today the organization operates from Brentwood, Tennessee and has grown to serve more than a thousand schools, supported by a team that includes many former educators. In July 2025, LiveSchool announced the Student Shopping platform as part of a new suite of tools to transform how schools motivate students.
