The Long Beach Police Department serves the City of Long Beach, New York, and has done so since 1911. It maintains a sworn patrol force supported by specialized units including the Detective Division, Narcotics Task Force, Street Crimes Unit, Traffic Division, Motorcycle Unit, and Identification Division, with civilian staff handling clerical duties, parking enforcement, and school crossings. The department uses bicycle patrols on the Boardwalk and in the West End, and four-wheel-drive patrols on the beach, with extra help from special officers during peak months.
