The Longbow Global Resilience Fund is a research-driven, low net, equity long/short fund specializing in investments deemed critical to safeguarding Western economic and security interests in the areas of energy transition (utility and power), infrastructure (energy transmission and distribution), strategic resources (rare earths and mining/processing) , and associated supply chains. Longbow seeks superior risk-adjusted returns (mid-to-high teens annual returns with below market volatility) without the use of leverage. The Firm employs a combination of in-house fundamental research and a defined, repeatable investment process and proven, proprietary risk management process with more than a decade of stress-testing. Portfolio construction takes the form of a concentrated, low net (30+%) “best opportunities” portfolio with Longbow’s hallmark emphasis on risk management and protecting partner capital. The Fund is led by Terry Fitzgerald, Longbow founder, GS partner, and former banker to Warren Buffett, and supported by seven further professionals with a combined 140 years of hedge fund, private equity, and investment management experience. The team is differentiated by the return of three legacy Longbow research partners, a former Senior Partner at Indus Capital, and three investment/operating professionals with previous leadership and command experience in the US and UK Defense and Intelligence communities, creating one of the deepest, most experienced, and well networked teams in the alternatives sector. The Fund (both areas of investment focus and portfolio construction) are a natural extension of Longbow’s decade-plus investment activities and track record. From 2004 to 2016, our $1.0-1.4 billion legacy energy transition and infrastructure fund delivered cumulative net returns which beat its benchmark indices, including the S&P 500, with one-third of the volatility.
