Longford County Council is the authority responsible for local government in Longford. The Council performs representational and operational roles, in accordance with the Irish system of Local Government. In serving the people of Longford, Longford County Council is responsible for the delivery of wide range of services, including the provision of infrastructure services necessary to the physical, economic, social and cultural life of Longford. Longford County Council is responsible for economic and community development, library and heritage services, tourism, Longford Sports Partnership, and the Public Participation Network. We work with many different stakeholders in carrying out our functions, such as members of the local community and local community groups, national government and national bodies such as Enterprise Ireland.
