Loowatt Ltd is a London-based company operating in the renewable energy and sanitation sector, focusing on a waterless toilet system designed to create local economies around waste treatment. The system uses a sealed mechanism to package human waste into odorless containers that are collected and processed in an anaerobic digester, producing natural gas and fertilizer that can benefit the surrounding community. The technology aims to conserve water, reduce odors, and provide a closed-loop approach to sanitation, with implementations in Madagascar, South Africa, and the United Kingdom. Loowatt positions itself as an interdisciplinary team of designers, engineers, and business professionals pursuing a shift in how sanitation is approached, moving away from conventional systems toward a self-contained waste-treatment solution. The company operates in a niche within the broader sanitation and renewable energy landscape, combining waste management with energy and fertilizer generation.
