Los Cenzontles Cultural Arts Academy is a small performing arts organization based in San Pablo, California. It provides a family-friendly setting for traditional Mexican American cultural arts education and hosts related cultural events for the local community. In its classes, participants learn from maestros, while its performances contribute living traditions with the group’s own voice. The academy also records its work, producing CDs and DVDs that document its artistic journey for broader sharing. A notable recent development is a collaboration with the Watsonville Film Festival in 2021 to present a three-part arts celebration honoring Pajaro Valley farmworkers and Mexican Americans who call the region home. The organization has attracted collaborations with recording artists of international recognition and has produced CDs and DVDs that have earned critical acclaim.
