Archer Academy of Accelerated Learning, previously Los Puentes Charter School, is a charter school in Albuquerque, New Mexico that serves primary and secondary students. It was founded in 2002 as Los Puentes Charter School, envisioned by Nancy Jo Archer, CEO of Hogares, Inc., to create a supportive mental, emotional, and behavioral educational setting for youth who struggle in traditional schools and are considered at-promise. A year-long process by a committee of educators, mental health professionals, and community volunteers was undertaken to design a dynamic and effective charter school. Today, the institution operates from northwest Albuquerque as Archer Academy of Accelerated Learning. With a relatively small staff, the school positions itself within the primary and secondary education sector, focusing on students who require an alternative approach to learning. This background places it among other charter schools in the region that aim to serve students needing mental, emotional, and behavioral supports alongside academics.
