The Loss Prevention Research Council (LPRC) conducts fact-based research to develop crime and loss-control solutions for its members and the wider retail industry. Based in Gainesville, Florida, the organization brings together a community of more than 60 retail members and about 70 solution partners to address loss prevention challenges. LPRC operates ten ongoing Working Groups and Innovation Tracks that cover product protection, supply chain protection, organized retail crime, violent crime, LP innovation, and data analytics. Its researchers, at the PhD level, apply scientific methods such as randomized field experiments, interviews and focus groups, CCTV footage review, and statistical analyses to measure outcomes like sales impact and loss reduction. In addition to research, the council offers proprietary studies, training, expert witness services, and consulting for both members and non-members, and it recently announced a strategic partnership with Wicklander-Zulawski & Associates.
