The Louisiana Bucket Brigade is an environmental health and justice organization based in New Orleans, Louisiana, founded in 2000. It supports communities in becoming informed and resilient through grassroots action aimed at reducing industrial pollution, with a focus on air quality monitoring and community education. The organization works directly in neighborhoods to document environmental problems and translate that information into avenues for change, such as policy advocacy, facilitating meetings between residents and facility stakeholders, or conducting targeted research to apply pressure for improvements. Its activities are oriented toward residents in coastal Louisiana communities and industrial corridors, with a track record of providing technical support and training to empower communities to pursue cleaner air and safer environments. The Brigade positions itself within the environmental services field by combining hands-on community engagement with strategic advocacy to address environmental health concerns.
