The Louisiana Cancer Research Center (LCRC) is a New Orleans–based research organization established in 2002 through action by the Louisiana State Legislature to advance education and research in cancer diagnosis, detection, and treatment. It unites four partner institutions—LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Tulane University Health Sciences Center, Xavier University of Louisiana, and Ochsner Health System—each contributing strengths in research and education, pharmacology and minority health, health disparities, and clinical trials. In addition to its research activities, LCRC operates a statewide outreach and prevention program focused on tobacco-free living. The center is located at 1700 Tulane Avenue in New Orleans and seeks to address cancer-related needs by coordinating research efforts with patient-facing initiatives. Recent developments include leadership changes, such as the January 2025 departure of the center’s Director and Chief Executive Officer.
