The Louisville Sports Commission is a small- to mid-sized nonprofit based in Louisville, Kentucky, operating in the spectator sports sector with a mission to foster economic opportunity and community well-being through sports. It serves as a host and facilitator for events that attract participants and spectators, help connect visitors with local venues and businesses, and contribute to Louisville's sports culture. In collaboration with Louisville Tourism and community leaders, it has generated more than $1.75 billion in local economic impact since 1999 and has hosted more than 100 NCAA postseason events and 44 NCAA championships, in addition to world and national championships in cycling, fencing, and gymnastics. The commission owns and produces signature events and awards that provide competitive opportunities while engaging the community and supporting local causes. Through Louisville Active, its health and wellness program, it mobilizes partnerships to promote active living and improve health outcomes for residents. A recent development is Greg Fante, the organization’s president and CEO, being named Executive of the Year by Sports ETA at its CE Summit in Columbus, Ohio, in June 2026.
