Based in Lowell, Arkansas, the Lowell Fire Department serves a 27-square-mile area surrounding a community of about 13,000 residents. Founded in 1973 as an all-volunteer unit, it has evolved into a full-time department that operates around the clock. The department provides fire suppression and investigation, fire prevention and community education, emergency extrication, and paramedic-level EMS response and transport, supported by modern equipment. Currently housed in a single fire station, it is planning to add a second station in the near future. Its mission is to provide emergency services to protect life, property, and the environment, guided by core values of integrity, compassion, honor, and respect, and it handles roughly 1,000 to 1,100 calls annually.
