Loyola High School is a Catholic school in the Jesuit tradition that nurtures a culture of hope and academic success for young men in Detroit who are serious about their future but are challenged by their urban environment. The high school prepares them to be men of Christian love, justice, and service who act with integrity, compassion, and courage. Loyola, an independent high school, is a partnership of students, staff, parents, the community, the Archdiocese of Detroit, and the Jesuits of the Detroit Province. Loyola prepares every student for the next stage of his formal education beyond high school and equips him with the skills and values needed to live responsibly and productively. Although a Catholic high school, Loyola welcomes students of all faiths who understand its philosophy and who are willing to be guided by and contribute to it. Rooted in the Jesuit philosophy of education that aims to shape and develop the entire person, Loyola fosters self-discipline, reflection, and service to others. Loyola High School is one of 47 Jesuit secondary schools in the United States.
