The Lynn Institutes developed through a partnership with the Integris Baptist Medical Center Research Department in Oklahoma City. It was established by then-Vice President of Medical Affairs and Lynn Institute namesake, Thomas Lynn, MD, and Research Department Director, William C. Orr, Ph.D. in 1989. After nearly a decade, the Lynn Institute separated from Integris Baptist Medical Center and was established as an independent, non-profit entity (The Lynn Institute for Healthcare Research, Inc.). Dr. Lynn remains actively involved as a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. William Orr retired on December 31, 2012. Karen Vinyard Waddell began her tenure as President/CEO of the Lynn Institute in October of 2011.
