MAB Community Services is a Brookline-based nonprofit in the individual and family services sector. It concentrates on individualized rehabilitation and family-centered strategies to help people with disabilities live independent lives in the community. The organization operates three divisions—the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired; MAB Adult Disability Services; and The Ivy Street School—to address vision loss, developmental disabilities or brain injuries, and neurodivergent youth. Its programs include vision rehabilitation services, in-home support, residential and day programming, and high school and life-skills education designed to expand opportunities and reduce barriers for participants. MAB's vision-focused division serves more than 1,200 adults statewide, and its disability services operate more than 25 group homes, serving over 300 people annually. In 2024, the organization launched the Maxo Joseph Awards to recognize direct-care staff.
