Macon-Bibb County is Georgia’s fourth-largest city and a vital cultural, transportation, and logistics hub for the region.

In 2011, residents overwhelmingly voted to consolidate the separate city and county governments into a single unified government, a change that took effect on January 1, 2014. Today, Macon-Bibb County serves as both the municipal and county government for approximately 155,000 residents.

Led by a 10-member Commission and a Mayor who serves as Chair, the government delivers essential infrastructure, services, and programs that support a vibrant economy, strong communities, and long-term regional growth.
