Made in Space is a small design studio in the graphic design field, based in Los Angeles, California.
Led by April Greiman, the practice traces its origins to a move from New York to Los Angeles in the 1970s, a shift that reflected an interest in new approaches to communication design.
The studio adopts a flexible, project-driven model that assembles specialists as needed to fit each assignment.
Through collaborations with architects such as Barton Myers, Frank Gehry, and RoTo Architects, the firm has worked on projects ranging from signage and exhibitions to color development, surfaces, and three-dimensional works for art commissions.
Today it partners with clients to provide design consultancy spanning transmedia identity, architectural branding, and the specification of color, surfaces, and materials, drawing on an approach that integrates technology, science, word, and image with space.
Notable clients include Accenture Tower in Minneapolis, Madame Tussauds in Hollywood, and Great Park in Irvine, California.
