These are special tables that stand vertically then lower to a horizontal position after the client steps onto the foot board. This is very important for two reasons. 

1. It allows a client who is experiencing severe pain and a reduced gait to get on the table without further agitation. 

2. It keeps the client in a load bearing posture as the table moves from the vertical to horizontal position. This allows the doctor to do a much more accurate check of the client's spinal alignment, and thus give a more precise adjustment.
