Mahin-Walz, Inc. was formed in 1962. Specializing in sales and installation of Operable Wall Systems, Mahin-Walz, Inc. has worked continuously with Modernfold, Inc. as our manufacturer.  The relationship between Mahin-Walz, Inc. and Modernfold actually extends back to the early 1950’s when Bob Mahin, acting as Modernfold’s Regional Sales Rep., set up many of the Distributors in the territory. Bob liked the Minneapolis area so much that he decided in 1956 that this was to be home. Six years later he and Al Walz, took on the Modernfold line and started Mahin-Walz, Inc.

In 1979 Brian Mahin (Bob’s son) and J.D. Mahin (Jan – Bob’s brother) agreed on a partnership that resulted in Brian and Jan taking over complete ownership in 1988. 

Since 1988 Brian and Jan have serviced the greater Minnesota and Western Wisconsin territory, selling, installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing Modernfold products and servicing, maintaining and repairing operable wall products of current and no longer existing manufacturers. 

Jan handles the area from Rochester, MN. south and does all of the Builders Exchange bid work. Brian handles the metro area and all negotiated work not on the Exchanges as well as managing the business.
