Main Industries, Inc., an employee-owned company, headquartered in Hampton, Virginia was founded in August 1976. We have built a reputation, coast to coast, as one of the premiere maritime surface preparation and coating service providers. Additionally, Main continues to service an ever growing, non-maritime, industrial client base. Main's over 35 years in business has afforded it the opportunity to service both the US Navy, US and foreign flagged commercial vessels and industrial clients. Main Industries is also an SSPC QP-1 coatings contractor, a member of the Scaffold and Access Industry Association (SAIA), a member of the Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA), a member of the Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition (ACIBC), and current subscriber to ISNetworld.


Employee safety, knowledge base, and retention are important to Main's management,  which is why we continue to provide training and certification, including but not limited to, OSHA 10 hour, C-7 abrasive blasting certs, C-12 airless spray certs, C-14 marine plural component spray certs, NACE Level III coating inspectors, and competent person training. 


The continued investment into the industry's leading surface preparation and coating equipment means that Main is uniquely positioned to offer services including mineral abrasive blasting, recyclable ferrous abrasive blasting, UHP water blasting (both hand lance and closed-loop robotic surface prep), hand power tool surface prep, standard and plural component hand/spray application and non-skid removal and re-application. Main Industries is a one-stop shop for all your maritime and industrial coatings needs.


Although maritime coatings is at our core, Main Industries is excited to grow our full-service scaffolding division. Our product offerings include service and rental of pin-lock scaffold, swing stage, marine hanging staging, and QuikDeck (a suspended access solution). We also offer labor only solutions.
