Mainstreet Credit Union began in January 2013 when two southwestern Ontario Credit Unions – Unigasco Community Credit Union in Chatham and Sydenham Community Credit Union in London-Middlesex partnered together. In June 2014 and 2015, Lambton Financial Credit Union in Sarnia and Goderich Community Credit Union in Goderich joined Mainstreet respectively.
