Make A Hero, 501 (c) 3 non-profit, was founded in 2011 by Kurt Miller, former owner of Warren Miller Entertainment, and son of Warren Miller. Make A Hero produces films that are unique in their depiction of the dynamic between athletes of all sports, abilities, and ways of life, with celebrity advocates who have volunteered their time, alongside every-day people (heroes) pushing themselves to new heights. Make A Hero is setting in motion a principle of sustainable growth; a cycle of heroes making heroes. Following this direction has served both the foundation of the Make A Hero organization, which consists of a small group of dedicated employees and volunteers, as well as its first in a series of adaptive sports films, The Movement: One Man Joins An Uprising (2011) -- narrated by Robert Redford & Warren Miller -- and 'The Current: Explore the Healing Powers of the Ocean (2014)', starring Missy Franklin, Mallory Weggemann, Bethany Hamilton, Jean-Michel Cousteau, Anthony Robles, David Hosick, Leo Morales, & Jesse Murphree. Each individual cast member shares their story of how they've overcome limitations of disability through adaptive water sports, while enjoying the healing power of the ocean. 'The Movement' has been accepted in 20+ film festivals including Sundance, was nominated for 7 Maverick Movie awards, and has won 5 awards, to date. 'The Current' makes its debut on EPIX, March 12, 2014. For more info, please visit: http://www.makeahero.org
